Rovers striker Benjani has promised the Rovers fans that there is more to come from him, despite picking up a little niggle after 45 minutes at the weekend.

The Zimbabwean was impressive in the lone striker role and bagged his first Blackburn goal with a composed header in the 2-1 defeat to Chelsea.

But despite being withdrawn at half time, Benji insists that he is in good shape.

Benjani spoke to Rovers TV and said – ‘The gaffer was just cautious and I’m definitely okay for the next match.

‘I’m starting to feel my fitness is coming back and let’s hope I play more in the future. I’m almost there I just need more playing time.’

Benjani’s breaking of his duck is something of a relief for him after his summer move but would rather he didn’t score if it meant the team winning.

Benjani continued – ‘It was a big relief – let’s hope I can score more for Blackburn now – but it is not so nice if you score and the team lose.

‘We didn’t take our chances and against a team like Chelsea they will punish you.’
