Anton Forrester is someone plenty have who hopes for at Blackburn but he’ll be spending a short-term loan with Morecambe with his exit announced on this afternoon.

Forrester, who had previously had a successful loan with Bury, has joined Morecambe in an emergency loan deal until 3rd January. During that spell with Bury, in the 2013/14 season, the striker managed seven-goals in 31-matches before a knee injury, which was a serious one, ended the loan and his season.

At 21 Forrester still has his best years ahead of him, at least it’ll be hoped he does, with many expecting these to come at Ewood Park but his development will be better served getting first-team football.

Getting this with Morecambe, and hopefully scoring regularly for the Shrimps too, will be better for him than Development Squad football really, at which level he’s scored three-goals so far this season.

Not only will the striker turn out for them in League 1 he’ll also be able feature in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy area semi final against Fleetwood.
