With YOUR help Vital Blackburn has been trying to determine what have been the best and worst of the Blackburn Rovers 2008-2009 season.

The nominations are still be taken for other Awards, but the Vital Blackburn Awards for 2008-2009 continue to be dished out with the MOST IMPROVED PLAYER OF THE SEASON.

THE WINNER: Paul Robinson.

When asked to simply leave the name of your Most Improved Player of the Season most felt Robinson should be the Award Winner, so congratulations to Robbo on winning this Award.

An honorary mention must go to Keith Andrews though he came a close second.

This is what people had to say on this category, which can also be viewed by clicking here.

Mikey D said: “Paul Robinson.

And I am looking at this from the perspective of the start of the season to the end as well.

Robbo when he arrived had good intentions but was short on confidence and slightly overweight.

Fast forward to now and Robbo is slim and arguably the best English goalkeeper in the country.

retroflair31 said: “Definitely Paul Robbo. His second half was impressive.

Money4midfield said: “It’s hard to say. Robbo is definitely in with a shout. But then if you look at his past, he has been at these highs before. Samba was also dreadful at the start of the season and grew back to the player we know and love under Allardyce. Overall, I’d probably have to go for Robbo.

glen9mullan said: “I’m gonna have to go with samba, his presence in the final few weeks playing out of position gave us that final push over the line and his sheer presence has upset many of a defence.

adrianbrfc said: “Paul Robinson.

BomBom said: “Samba definitely stepped his game up this season and a lot was expected of Robbo, filling Friedel’s gloves. Its a tight one but I’m going with Robbo, purely as he has cushioned the blow of Brad leaving reasonably well.

Blue n Whitey said: “Yeah, Robbo gets it for me too, he was a bit shaky at the start of the season, and then gradually under Big Sam he has become an aaaawesome asset to our team, and country hopefully too!

Roversman said: “Yep Robbo for me!

sasman said: “Keith Andrews for me. Surely, from whatever piss poor division he was in, to premier league, deserves some sort of recognition, started of slowly, but held down a spot all year.

Durks said: “Before he got injured I would say Emo as he was by far our best player this season. I can see the thinking on Robbo but he was a premier league keeper before so I think I will have to agree with Sas that Andrews has been the most improved. He came from league 2 with people angry at his signing to holding down a place. He has a big year next year though as Sam is targeting midfield with his transfer targets.

FreidelNo.1 said: “Andrews – first Premier season, scored more league goals that Modric (I love winding Spurs fans up about that one!)

Money4midfield said: “Ahh… a very good call FreidelNo.1, I’d like to change my vote to Andrews too.

bennipoo said: “I’d have to say Andrews…the lad got nothing but stick round where I sat, and i am so pleased that those people are having to eat their words now.

LOVE the Modric fact BTW!!!!

JuanFranDeLaHuego said: “Andrews improved since the beginning of the season but I vote Ooijer. I’ll miss his song.

dominator2800 said: “I have to say it’s Robbo. He became rock solid for us at the end of the season.

Blue_Canoe said: “Agree with dominator here – Robinson was pants at the beginning of the season, but at the end was one of the biggest reasons we’re still in the top flight.

Thanks for voting on this, PLEASE KEEP your votes coming in for these other Awards, as there is STILL time to vote so click here for the list of categories and vote on the one(s) you want!
