Murphy departs Rovers

Danny Murphy has this morning left Blackburn Rovers via mutual consent.

Murphy, who had one year left to run on a two year deal, endured a torrid season in the Championship with the club and became deeply unpopular with fans as he struggled to adjust to life in the Championship.

As a result of falling out of favour and briefly being forced to train with the Reserves, the club has taken steps to release Murphy from his deal and to allow him to look for another club.

It won’t have come cheaply this, but it’s safe to say it’s best for everyone.
