Mark Hughes has said that Ryan Nelsen will make his Blackburn Rovers return “sooner rather than later.”
After his 75 minutes in the behind closed doors friendly against Rangers during the week Hughes said:
“Ryan is very close. He is looking stronger and he’s had a lot of sessions with the group as well.
“I think he just needs the confidence of knowing that he can last a full 90 minutes.
“We’ll organise another practice game for him, then hopefully, sooner rather than later, he’ll be involved on match days again.”
The return of Nelsen will be a massive boost to the backline, as highlighted with some stats last year Rovers are a far tighter unit with the Admiral in it.
