Ryan Nelsen has today given his full backing to the Venky’s vision for Blackburn Rovers.

Nelsen was one of the first to speak out a few weeks back when Sam Allardyce was removed from his position as manager of the club but has now changed his mind.

The clear the air meeting that the players wanted has now happened after Venkys spoke to some selected senior players and outlined their intentions for the club.

Nelsen was speaking to the Dominion Post and told them that the owners had since ‘spoken to some of the senior players’ and outlined the future they have planned for Blackburn Rovers.

‘It’s been a crazy couple of weeks but our owners really have a vision in terms of how they see the club and they want to take it. It’s very exciting.

‘They didn’t have Sam [Allardyce] in their vision, he’s paid the price through no fault of his own. But it could be really exciting for Blackburn.

‘I think the players needed to know something and the owners wanted to let them know what they see Blackburn being. It’s really refreshing’

Nelsen of course is Blackburn captain but the man who was stripped of that title, Chris Samba, was one of the nominated men in the above meeting and Nelsen is confident that the talks had clarified a lot of doubt in the players minds.

So much so that he is ready to hand the armband back when Samba has his brain on the game.

Nelsen clarified – ‘I will definitely give it back to Chris when the manager feels he’s got his head right and is right behind Blackburn 100 per cent.’

Sounds a bit better doesn’t it?
