There is no rest for Blackburn Rovers Captain Ryan Nelsen this week. Ryan faces one of the biggest matches of his career. He wont be facing the likes of Wayne Rooney, Fernando Torres or Didier Drogba. Ryan will be facing a Bahraini outfit, eager to derail his hopes of qualifying for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

New Zealand have it all to play for. After a 0-0 draw in Bahrain, Nelsen knows, nothing but victory will do for the All Whites, as they fight to qualify for their first world cup in 27 years. Nelsen cant wait to create history

‘If we were to reach the finals for only the second time in our history, it would be absolutely massive for football in New Zealand. It would inspire a whole new generation and encourage more youngsters to stay in the game.’

As an Australian, normally I would enjoy New Zealand losing. However, Brett Emerton, Vince Grella and The Sas would like to wish our neighbours the best of luck. Hopefully, the Kiwi’s get the win they are looking for, and then get drawn in the same group as Australia in the World Cup. Easy 3 points!

On Ya Nelsen!
