Nelsen Merely Needs To Rest

Blackburn Rovers skipper Ryan Nelsen merely needs rest, and not further surgery as had been feared.

It was feared that the 30-year-old New Zealander (who has been dogged by hamstring problems for the past 18-months) would be set for a further extended spell on the sidelines, but thankfully he will not need further surgery (having undergone what is described as groundbreaking surgery in January last year) he has merely been told that he needs to rest as a bone projection is aggravating a tendon, as Rovers chairman John Williams has explained.

Williams told the Lancashire Telegraph: “I’ve been told the scans have shown up what’s called a bone projection, which is aggravating the tendon, but nothing that points to an operation.

“The preferred treatment is rest and I think we’re probably talking about a couple of weeks
.”

Sitting it out for a few weeks is MUCH better than SEVERAL months!!!
