Having missed Blackburn Rovers’ clash with West Ham United through injury at the weekend Ryan Nelsen will miss the rest of the month? there is no immediate cause for concern however!

As a precautionary measure Nelsen was withdrawn from the FA Cup Quarter Final meeting with Manchester City at half time after complaining of tightness in his problematic hamstring. This meant him missing the West Ham clash at the weekend and he will also now miss New Zealand’s games with Costa Rica and Venezuela.

Mark Hughes however is not concerned and expects the Admiral to return in time for our next game, he said:

He’s got a little bit of scar tissue which will continue to free itself.

So when that happens he gets a bit of a reaction. The good news is that it isn’t a re-occurrence of his injury over the summer.

He wasn’t available for us against West Ham and he won’t be travelling to New Zealand as we have to rest him so he gets a clear break and we can welcome him back after the internationals.”

Meanwhile Rovers defender Eddie Nolan has joined Stockport County on loan.

The 18-year-old Irish youngster has joined Stockport on a month’s loan and has gone straight into the League Two sides squad for their match with Bristol Rovers on Tuesday.

Nolan is very highly rated at Ewood Park so a loan spell will do him and Rovers no harm at all.
