In accordance to the arrangement Blackburn Rovers had with New Zealand for our skipper Ryan Nelsen to go to Beijing he will now return to Ewood Park for the new season.

Rovers agreed to let Nelsen join up with the Kiwi’s for their opening two matches at the Olympic Games (a 1-1 draw with China and a 5-0 defeat to Brazil on Sunday) on the understanding that the 30-year-old would return after these. Paul Ince will now be able to call upon God to lead us in our opening Premier League match with Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday.
