Blackburn captain Ryan Nelsen has warned his team-mates that complacency will not be accepted and the boys should avoid thinking they are safe – because we are not yet.

Sunday’s 2-0 win over local rivals Wigan means that the Blue and White Army are six points clear of trouble with four games left.

However, the goal scorer at the weekend (his first in 141 games for Rovers) has insisted the task of avoiding relegation must be completed first before anyone gets ahead of themselves.

Nelsen – speaking to Rovers.co.uk, said – ‘We know there is still some graft to go, but we are looking forward to the last four games of the season,’

‘The team has always tried not to look at the relegation battle, we’ve always tried to look at getting points every game and thinking about going up and not down, and the win over Wigan has given us a real boost to do that.’

Sound words indeed from our new goal hero.
