It is being reported that Blackburn Rovers could be subject to a FRESH takeover bid?

Newspapers reports are saying that it is understood that a consortium of Asian businessmen that are based in Yorkshire are at an advanced stage regarding a possible £55 million takeover at Ewood Park. The reports say that the consortium are confident that an agreement can be reached in the next few days, which IF (the big if) did happen MIGHT free up some funds for manager Mark Hughes to use before the January transfer window closes?!?!

A STIPULATION of any takeover from this consortium is understood to make keeping David Bentley a REQUIREMENT (this is amidst talk of a £10 million move by Newcastle United for the England International, with Rovers already saying he wasn’t for sale anyway.)

Dan Williams’ proposed takeover (which has looked likely to happen) recently collapsed.

  • If it is the right thing for Rovers, and the trusties are happy with this then it could happen. ONLY what is best for the club will EVER be accepted!!!
HOPEFULLY if this is for the best it can happen.

  • Wow, a big surprise to be honest, and the stipulation that Bentley stays surely indicates that these people are interested about the future of the club

  • Even if it is true, the takeover would take too long to be completed before the end of the transfer window – wouldn’t it?

  • You do have a point FN1, but if this story is true, it does say that they are in advance stages of discusiion, who knows mate.

  • Yeah, I think it said it could be sorted in the next couple of days, but again I don’t think thats very likely, we would have heard something before now if that was the case. Hopefully theres some truth in this story though.

  • I am not sure what to make of this guys. Im sure the board know what they are doing and I hope Hughes gets some funds to spend… I am unsure whether this will be done in time for the window closing though
