Blackburn boss Owen Coyle has been insistent he doesn’t want to sell Grant Hanley. The Newcastle bid for the Rovers defender is an insistent ‘we don’t care, we’re determined to get him’ kind of thing it seems?

The latest offer was a reported £4.5m with the Shields Gazette now reporting a ‘significantly increased offer’ (that would also include add-ons) will be made this week for the Blackburn captain that could be nearer to the £6m mark it seems that might be enough to snap up the 24-year-old.

Coyle doesn’t want to sell but a point will come when it gets to the ‘how much is too much to refuse’ and that amount (£6m) could be it with reports also starting to crop up claiming Hanley is actually keen on the move to St James’ Park?

Rafa Benitez is after players with Championship experience at Newcastle, which Hanley has plenty of, but also players that are then capable of performing in the Premier League as well with the defender also fitting that bill too with him also proven on the international stage with Scotland.

Will Hanley still be at Ewood Park this time next week, let alone this time next month?
