Blackburn Rovers aren’t going to be offering contract to Giles Coke and Dean Furman after recent trials.

When I’d initially written the title for this I article put it down as: “No Coke (Or Furman) Deals At Rovers.”

I wasn’t sure how well this would go down, maybe I should’ve left it but I played it safe with how it is!!

Back to the point anyway!! Gary Bowyer has confirmed to The Lancashire Telegraph due to the fact Coke and Furman were too similar to players we currently have (assuming we keep them!!) added to our Financial Fair Play (FFP) restrictions in place we couldn’t justify offering them contracts with a decision made to move them on.

The Rovers Manager said: “Unfortunately they’ve been with us and obviously we had to come to a decision.

“We’ve made the decision not to go with either of them due to the restrictions that we’re under.

“They’re very similar to players that we already have but the pair of them have been fantastic. If the circumstances had been different for us then it might have been different for them.“

The arrivals of French duo Sacha Petshi and Bangaly-Fode Koita obviously played a part in this decision too. They’re (I can only assume) different types of players but offer what Coke and Furman would’ve but on lesser wages too??

I don’t want to put too much pressure on these dudes but the importance of them being diamonds plucked from the rough (French Third Division player Petshi in particular) can’t be stressed enough can it!!
