Blackburn Rovers aren’t going to be signing former Cardiff City and Wigan Athletic midfielder Kim Bo-Kyung as he’s been denied a work permit.

A deal was in place it seems but the green light wasn’t given so this deal’s (which doesn’t seem too much of a surprise in my eyes) now off!!

The Official Blackburn Rovers Website released this statement to confirm the news: “Rovers have been unsuccessful in their appeal for a work permit for former Cardiff City midfielder Kim Bo-Kyung.

“The club had hoped to sign the 25-year-old South Korean international, but at a hearing today their application for a permit was turned down.

I’ve not delved into this too much but from the sounds of it (agreeing a deal with the twenty-five-year-old or not) the chances of Rovers successfully bringing in the South Korean International weren’t too great anyway were they??

Kim would’ve made a good addition to Gary Bowyer’s squad (in my honest opinion), however, the Football Association have spoken and it’ll not be happening so not only will we not be bringing in Kim we look like we’ll be losing Rudy Gestede to Aston Villa too don’t we with the Benin International poised for complete a move to The Barclays Premier League side.

This failure with Kim could well see Danny Guthrie get a deal at Ewood though??
