Blackburn’s win against Brentford on Saturday wasn’t enough to move Rovers out of the relegation zone but did move the club to within two-points of Championship safety, which is something Owen Coyle has told the BBC he’s certain we’ll do.

‘We will move ourselves to a position of safety in this league.’

The three-two win at Ewood Park, which involved a first half full of goals with Blackburn coming from a goal down to lead two-one before Brentford brought it back to two-all with Rovers claiming the points thanks to an own goal from Harlee Dean to take us up to 22nd.

There’s ‘absolutely no doubt’ in Coyle’s mind that we’ll move away from the threat of relegation into League 1 with him adding he feels with ‘the right investment’ and if he’s given ‘the right time’ Blackburn can get back to a place we should be.

‘There is absolutely no doubt about that and when we do, we need the right investment and the right time to kick on. We believe that we can get this club, in time, back to where we feel we should be. We want to get better in one or two areas and I certainly know the areas we want to improve the club.’

Firstly Blackburn need to get out of the bottom three, which hasn’t been the case that often during the opening months of the season to do! Few are likely to get too carried away by what Coyle feels he can achieve at Ewood Park just yet but Saturday ‘might’ have been a start?
