No Fitness Concerns With Warnock

The sight of seeing Blackburn Rovers left-back Stephen Warnock limping away from a match is one of the worst we could see, as he is rapidly becoming one of Rovers’ most instrumental performers.

However, this was the sight witnessed during Saturday’s 4-2 Premier League victory over Reading as an ankle knock forced him off to be replaced by Zurab Khizanishvili on 55 minutes (this enabled him to play more football for Rovers in one half that he had the entire season prior to this!) But Rovers manager Mark Hughes believes that this is not a major concern and he should be fit for the match with Tottenham Hotspur (the big one, for us VBers if nothing else!!!) next Sunday.

Hughes told Radio Rovers: “He just got a bang, we don’t think it is anything more than that. It is extremely sore at the moment, but we don’t anticipate it will be a problem.”
