No More Star Players Leaving Ewood

Rovers boss Sam Allardyce insists Blackburn will not be parting with any more of their best players this summer.

Key first team members Stephen Warnock and Chris Samba have continuously been linked with moves away from Ewood Park this summer but the boss has firmly stated that on his wath no-one else will be moving.

Big Sam has noted that he could sell more of his squad to make room for extra quality but the key men, the glue of the side are not to be touched.

Interestingly enough, Allrdyce has stated that once a goal scoring striker has been signed, he could be tempted to participate in some trading of players.

Allardyce said: “We are hearing the rumours that are scooting around the press.

‘We are not in the position where we need to sell any more.

‘John Wiliams has said that Roque and Matt Derbyshire were enough to satisfy the bank and give me some of that money to go into the transfer market.

“If I was going to do any more it would be because I would want to move one player out and bring two in. That is the only reason I would have to do that.

‘I certainly don`t want to lose any more of my best players so we will have to wait and see but nobody has bid for anyone that I am aware of.

“It might mean that we do a little bit of trading here and there but that is not the Warnocks and the Sambas, that is other players if I have to do that.”

Sam has conceded there is always going to be rumours through the press as the papers try to bullshit their way through the summer but has again remained defiant as he knows the club holds all the cards as to who goes and who stays.

He continued – “It is always going to the be the case at this time of year that you are linked with players coming out and other clubs are linked with your players, you are not surprised that happens.

“It is part and parcel with the broadsheets and redtops.

‘At this time of the year there is no football being played so transfer speculation fills the headlines.

‘They have to put something in the paper to sell them but of course a lot of that is speculation.

“That speculation does unsettle your players and they start asking questions. The good thing is those players are contracted and it is in our hands whether we want to do business or not.”
