More speculation about Andy Todd’s Blackburn Rovers future has come about today with former Scottish giants Glasgow Rangers being linked, a link which is being played down.

Some reports coming out of Scotland today have been claiming Rangers could be about to make a £1 million move to take Todd to the Scottish Premier League but his agent Peter Harrison, despite admitting a move to Rangers could appeal to Todd has said no approach has yet been made:

At the moment Andy is a Blackburn player.

He has forced his way back into the team following injury and suspension. I am unaware of any approach from Rangers.

He only has one year left on his contract and obviously he wants to know what the future holds for him and whether the manager sees him in his long-term plans.

Obviously Rangers are a massive club and I’m sure that Andy would be interested if they did make an approach for him.”

Toddy is not the player he was and will almost certainly be leaving Ewood Park in the summer whatever happens but keeping him here until then would be fine with me. Anything between £1 and £2 million would probably tempt Mark Hughes into selling though as Toddy doesn’t have a long term future under Sparky.

Without wishing to be cruel to Toddy or Rangers but being linked with a player such as Toddy does show just how far the fall from grace of the former giants of Scottish football has been?
