Vital Blackburn’s most recent Poll asked you “Who has been best summer transfer window signing?” Unsurprisingly you voted… Benni McCarthy! It had to be really didn’t it?

Although to be fair all the signings have made an impression with 77% of the vote the South African (who has already scored more than a third of the number of goals Craig Bellamy scored for Rovers last season) runs out a clear winner.

Shabani Nonda, who is really impressing me with his work rate and commitment came in second with 10%. Personally I feel he is still working up his fitness and once this is fully at his peak he will be truly explosive!

Jason Brown has been limited to only forty-five minutes of play but did enough with his penalty save and others saves in the Wigan Athletic game to gain 7% of the vote to finish third.

Andre Ooijer who has recovered from a tricky start to impress in recent times gained 2% as did Jason Roberts and Francis Jeffers.

Personally I’m saddened by the fact that Roberts has only gained 2% as I feel his contribution since his arrival has maybe gone a little unnoticed. Even taking into account his injury I felt he had maybe done enough to have impressed more than he has? Since his return from injury he has been involved in the Wigan Athletic and Wisla Krakow goals.

So in summary
Jason Brown – 7%
Jason Roberts – 2%
Francis Jeffers – 2%
Benni McCarthy – 77%
Andre Ooijer – 2%
Shabani Nonda – 10%

You can’t question that Benni was the worthy winner, but this is a poll that I think would be interesting to re-run at a latter date to at least see if someone runs him closer?

The current poll, with the third round of the Carling Cup taking place this week is asking, “How far will Rovers go in the League Cup?

As for what you think, cast your vote and why not have your say on the latest polls findings…
