Shabani Nonda, currently on a season long loan at Ewood Park is very much hoping he can earn himself a permanent move to Blackburn Rovers.

Having worked hard on his fitness the 29-year-old DR Congo International striker has put in a series of impressive displays so has every chance of turning his loan from Roma into something more permanent, if not in January in the summer of 2007 when his loan reaches its climax.

With Jason Roberts out for the remainder of this year Nonda has a great chance to stake his claim for the move he is after as he is being used as main striker Benni McCarthy’s partner. Despite scoring only the one goal he has impressed and has every chance of getting the move he is after. Speaking to the official Blackburn Rovers website he said:

I like it here. It is a bad moment for me now because I came here to score goals and until now I have not scored so many.

But I will keep working hard and I believe the team can turn things around.

I like the team, I like the fans and I have good feelings here, so if the possibility arises then why not?

What’s the general impression of Nonda, are you impressed with what we have seen in which case would you like to see him stay at Ewood? Or does he still need to convince you he’s worth the long-term commitment?
