Blackburn Rovers have confirmed the exits of Jack O’Connell to Brentford and youngster Jordan Preston to Ayr United.

O’Connell’s had various loan spells away from Ewood Park over the years but the twenty-year-old hasn’t really been able to make an impact of the first-team so leaves Rovers this time on a permanent basis to sign a three-and-a-half-year contract to go to Griffin Park, signing for Brentford for an undisclosed fee.

Also leaving today is nineteen-year-old Under-21 striker Preston who has returned to Scotland where he’ll spend the remainder of the season with the League One side and benefit from some first-team football, with him impressing at Academy level with nineteen goals as well as three goals for the Under-21 side.
