Odd Kit Launch!!

Should that be “odd kit”, “odd kit launch” or “an odd kit and an odder kit launch” following Blackburn Rovers launching our new kit for the 2014-2015 season.

The kit itself, while a little too paler blue for my liking (however, similar in colour to the shade that we first gained promotion into the Premier League in the early 1990’s) doesn’t look too bad in my honest opinion but the tacky looking Zebra Claims Ltd logo splattered across it isn’t too great. The agreement with them to be our principal sponsor itself isn’t one that I’m that pleased with either and hasn’t been received too well by many of us supporters has it.

PPI claims management company Zebra Claims have taken over sponsorship from Regulatory Finance Solutions (RFS), however, they’ll continue to sponsor the Riverside Stand.

Venky’s looked to be making some steps forwards and started to win some people over but you can’t help but feel that something more than this PPI company could’ve been attracted to our famous club, certainly a company in a different field?? If they’re pumping money into the club though that’s got to be the main thing though perhaps!! I’m not sure that this is a deal that could’ve been that lucrative to us though, could it??

If this wasn’t bad enough we then had to endure the cringe worthy video featuring Alan “Birdy” Birkbeck, which proves that Venky’s either have a surreal sense of humour or are completely out of touch with things. Could it be that a masterstroke of genius was shown to put out a video that was so bad that it’s good (or at least gained the attentions of so many) to get Rovers spoken about?? I still think it an embarrassing video and really cringe worthy and I personally can’t bring myself to watch it again but in case you’ve not maybe you want to below??

I’d not really recommend it mind!!

I wonder how much of an impact (good or bad) this kit, the Zebra Claims sponsorship and/or the launch video will have??
