Martin Olsson, Rovers latest superstar, has revealed that for the first six months of his stay here at Ewood Park, he couldn’t wait to go back home to Sweden after a torrid start to life in England.

But after years of shaky performances Olsson is now on a roll and is a stand out performer in the Rovers ranks.

Something that a lot of us didn’t expect – except of course Rover23 who reminds every day that he called it!

Olsson, speaking to Sky Sports said – ‘For six months I wanted to go back, I said I wanted to go back (to Sweden). Mentally I did not play my best football for a long time.

‘I phone my family every day. I said I wanted to come home but they told me, ‘don’t do it’.’

Olsson has clarified that he is now enjoying life in England and specifically at Ewood Park and hopes to remain in the first team.

Frankly if he carries on playing like he has been doing the last month then he has no worries.

Martin continued – ‘I hope I can stay here now of course, when I am playing my best football, I know I can play in this league.

‘I just want more games to show that though. If I work hard the manager will pick me. It’s as simple as that.’

Good, honest stuff from the man of the moment.
