Middlesbrough had reportedly revived their interest in Jordan Rhodes following a defeat to Bournemouth on Saturday, and Blackburn were thought to be receptive to this exit….

The Daily Mail said that Middlesbrough still had hopes of a loan agreement, with the option to buy for £10m, before Thursday’s transfer deadline could be struck?

Does interest in Rhodes remain? I’m certain it does from many a Championship side, and some in the Premier League too, but would there really be any benefit to letting him leave on loan now? We might not have much to play for in the Championship but we DO still have the FA Cup!

Further reports this evening from Gazette Live say that as much as our Indian owner Venky’s, who have been ‘considering his exit for the past two-weeks’, are ‘open to selling’ at the end of the season they have now decided that he isn’t for sale at the moment.

It’s feared that he could get injured and it’s also, of course, hoped that he can help us into the FA Cup semi final, and potentially final too so he stays – for now…. Will this be the end of this one once and for all until the summer?
