One in, one out at Rovers

Rovers are getting the hang of this transfer merry go round thing with news coming out that Niko Kalinic is close to a move to the Ukraine and midfielder Radosav Petrovic coming out of Eastern Europe and in the opposite direction… destination Ewood Park.

Kalinic has been angling for a move away from Ewood Park since the end of last season but only backed that up with a request to move last week.

Niko refused to travel with Rovers to Hong Kong for the Asia Cup as he hopes to force through a move to Ukranian side Dnipro as early as today (a certain journalist is even adamant that Kalinic has been spotted in Ukraine).

The only sticking point seems to be the transfer fee with Dnipro wanting to pay about £4 million and Rovers wanting closer to £8 million.

Expect the clubs to arrive at a figure of £6 million in due course.

Petrovic himself is close to actually making an entrance into Ewood Park after Partizan Belgrade and Rovers reportedly agreed a fee of roughly £2.5 millon for the defensive midfielder.

Some are speculating he could be a Rovers player today but by the end of the week look most likely.

Either way, this move has some legs as we look to FINALLY be spending some money.
