Former Blackburn Rovers midfielder Bryan Hodge has signed for Partick Thistle following his released by Sam Allardyce.

Hodge appeared to be destined for the Ewood Park exit gates twelve-months ago but the appointment of former Rovers manager Paul Ince (who has now returned to the Milton Keynes Dons) gave him a stay of execution. However, (after loan spells with Darlington, Mansfield Town and Millwall over the years) Allardyce proved this executioner for the former Glasgow Rangers youngster this summer as he released the former Scottish Youth International.

After training with Scottish Premier League side St Mirren the 21-year-old has signed for Scottish First Division side Partick, who have just sold another former Rovers Gary Harkins to Dundee. Hodge is understood to have signed a two-year contract.
