Paul Robinson’s Save of the Season

In the VB End of Season awards we asked VBers everywhere to pick what they consider to be the best single save from Rovers goalkeeper Paul Robinson.

Robinson has certainly been called into action more than once or twice this season and with so many to choose from they all seemed to become a blur at times.

Notable mentions included saving a one on one with Darren Bent in the 0-0 draw at Ewood Park with Sunderland.

His excellent point blank save at home to WBA in the second half from Jerome Thomas earned Robbo a clean sheet. Paul even got a mention from VBers for his superb collection of saves from the 3-0 win at home to Wolves in the winter.

Long forgotten is his stunning one handed save from Dimitar Berbatov in the 7-1 drubbing at United which prevented the miserable git from scoring a sixth goal.

But the winner of the Paul Robinson save of the season is… His one handed stop on the final day of the season from Steven Fletcher of Wolves.

With Wolves on the comeback trail it took a fantastic one handed stop using lightning reactions to keep the former Burnley (boo hiss) player from getting on the score sheet.

A super stop and a worthy winner.
