Radosav Petrovic is begging to get started with his Blackburn Rovers career after passing a medical with the club and agreeing terms on a healthy four year deal.

All that stands between Petrovic and a picture on the Rovers website holding a blue and white shirt up is a work permit hearing but having played regularly for Serbia in the last two seasons that is surely a formality.

Radosav made it clear when negotiations started that a move to Ewood Park was very much his first choice.

Petrovic told Sky Sports – ‘I’m extremely happy to have agreed everything and know it will be a nervous couple of weeks until the work permit panel, but I hope that everything will be okay.

‘I want to thank Partizan and Blackburn for making this happen, and thank you also to all the Partizan fans.’

‘I’m looking forward to starting the next stage of my career and playing in the Premier League.’

  • Technically he will be the 1st signing. But don’t think he will be the first signing announced by Rovers.

  • Really pleased by his capture, been following him a long time and for him to be joining rovers is just top top news, especialy as i expected he would join a massive club last year, will prove to be a real bargain

  • So is he excited about moving to Rovers or playing in the premierleague?? Reallly hope he gets a WP soon and is an exciting young player like the Zonz!

  • Can’t wait to see him play for us. Can’t see tbe WP causing any concerns. Tombo- does that mean we’re close to signing another player who’s in the UK already?? Goodwillie looks like a good bet with us only £200k short of the asking price.

  • Petrovic set to join, BBC has said we are set to sign Goodwillie for £2.8 million in the next 24 hours…FINALLY we are starting to sign good young talented players! Petrovic, Goodwillie hopefully Cisse and Mongongu as well!

  • two weeks until the start of the new season hopefully Petrovic will have his work permit by then. Goodwillie the best upcoming scottish footballer, Mongongu if he can obtain a French passport and a striker with good pedigree who can get us 10-20 a season.
