Eddie Nolan is yet another of the clubs highly promising youngsters to come through he Blackburn Rovers academy programme; a programme that produces so many talented youngsters.

The cultured central defenders impact at academy level has been such that the Irish star has already made himself a regular in the reserves and will now be looking to make his first-team breakthrough in the near future.

Nolan is a regular for the Republic of Ireland at under-19 level for having already represented them at all levels from youth level upwards. Should he continue his progress the set up to under-21 will come sooner rather than later and then who knows when his first senior call will come?

His performances at academy and youth level’s have been such that Mark Hughes awarded Nolan with a squad number of 32 for the 2006-2007 season despite only being 17-years-old at the time.

Nolan made his Rovers debut as a substitute for injured Andy Todd in the UEFA Cup tie with Nancy in December 2006.
