Being a Blackburn Rovers Maniac, financial difficulties are no mystery to us. Whilst the big boys spend there millions, we complain why we sold x for x amount, yet can only spend y amount. However, times like this, really, we just have to be greatful we have the board and management that we do have….

Unfortunately for Portsmouth and its loyal fans, the club has been led into administration, after 4 undisclosed groups were unable to prove they had the funding to purchase the club from Balram Chainrai.

Insolvency Specialist Andrew Andronikou, speaking to the press, said

‘We made a conscious decision to put it into administration tomorrow morning at the High Court’.

It has been a tragic turn of events for Pompey, a club, built on 112 years of tradition, enjoying a glorious rise to the Premier League, winning the FA Cup in 2008, now doomed to return to the championship, suffering a 9 point penalty to top it off.

Portsmouth reportedly have debts of 70 million pounds, with player contracts possibly to be terminated. FIFA are set to have emergency discussions in mid March to resolve the future of the Portsmouth Football Club.

The reason for Portsmouth debts is debatable, heavy spending, continuous change of ownership and other aspects all contribute. However, we, at Vital Blackburn, wish everybody involved with the Portsmouth football club, its fans, Vital Pompey lads and our very own Aaron Mokoena, the best. Hopefully, something can be sorted out, and Pompey will be back on its feet and claw its way back to the premiership……How Else are we suppose to get 6 points every season!

All the best Lads!
