Gary Bowyer’s spoken a lot about pride and how much he’s been feeling this about Blackburn Rovers following our FA Cup exit on Wednesday evening. However, he’s given special mention to the supporters.

Word that I used in the title of this were spoken by Bowyer and I think he’s right that plenty of price was restored, however, it’s important that this isn’t now lost!! A full house at Ewood Park offered up superb support and we definitely witness that twelfth man that’s often spoken about.

There’s been plenty of discontent at Ewood in recent years and the disappointing end to The Championship season when our hopes of marking our twentieth anniversary of winning The Premiership Title couldn’t be marked with promotion (with our play-off hopes officially ending in March, however, effectively in January or even February!!) but he knows more than most (having been at the club for so long) how disappointing this is and can understand our frustrations. Bowyer does feel we’ve shown what superb support we have with the nation seeing this once more.

Bowyer told Radio Rovers: “I think the fans showed the nation how good they are,’ the Rovers manager

“I was delighted we got the replay for them after what they’ve been through. I’ve been here more than ten years myself so I understand what their frustrations are and their disappointment this season that we aren’t challenging yet.

“So for them to perform like that on the terraces, the noise was unbelievable. They’ve stayed with us all the way through and they made it a really special night for the players and everyone involved.

“There’s pride in our football club again. The supporters, the staff, everybody that has put the event on tonight, we’ve showed that there is a heartbeat still in the football club and it’s beating.

Plenty of good points made by Bowyer, and if you look close enough some honesty too with it showing how disappointed he is and how much it hurts him too. This is also a good video.

What will the future bring for Bowyer and Rovers?? Who knows!! He’s keen on a positive end to the season though so we can undertake a lot of hard work in the summer and look to kick on. What happens over the Summer will shape much of our future and just how much (or how little perhaps??) we can look forward to this.
