Good morning everybody! Ahead of the match tomorrow with Wolverhampton Wanderers we here at VB are a kind bunch and have decided to ask Vital Wolves’ Akela some questions to spice things up before the big match.

Sit back, get the kettle on and enjoy –

1. Hey Akela! How does it feel to be back in the Premier League?

The build up and anticipation over the summer was fantastic! Our opening day defeat certainly brought me back down to earth quickly though, but we’ve performed well overall so far.

2. Mick McCarthy hasn’t always had the greatest of records in the top flight – whats changed this time?

Well hopefully it has changed! We won’t really know until the end of the season though.

3. Who should Rovers be keeping an eye out for on Saturday?

Milijas has impressed me hugely since we signed him. He certainly adds that bit of quality to our side and has the key to unlock defences.

4. Likewise is there any Rovers players you admire?

Benni McCarthy, always seems to have a smile on his face and I like that in a player.

5. What is your impression of the seemingly unliked by everyone else Sam Allardyce?

Blackburn is a club that probably suites him better. Newcastle was just too big for him and brings pressure of a certain style of football that Big Sam isn’t exactly known for. I don’t believe he has that issue with Rovers, so will probably prove a success.

6. Who do you see falling through the relegation trap door this season?

Despite their start to the season, I`ll still go for Burnley and Birmingham. But my new choice for the drop is Portsmouth.

7. Which Premier League player do you despise?

He is actually one of your lot! Diouf !

8. With West Brom not about this season – who do you consider to be the main derby this time out? If anybody?

Villa and Birmingham will still have a little something about it.

9. Are there any gaps in the squad that haven’t been addressed for Wolves during the transfer window?

Will have to wait and see on the two new signings and whether they will plug the gaps. I probably would still have ideally liked more experience in defence as well, but overall our signings over the summer look good ones.

10. Finally can I grab a prediction?

I think we’ll grab a 1-0.

Can I say many thanks to Akela for this interview and stay tuned for the return interview I did with Wolves as I try to be witty, informative and honest for pretty much the first time ever 😉

Good luck tomorrow Wolves – but not too much of course!
