Spurs boss Harry Redknapp has lent his support to friend Sam Allardyce and has refused to criticise Rovers boss Sam Allardyce in the same way as Rafa ‘Hypocrite’ Benitez.

Allardyce’s Blackburn boys are at Spurs tomorrow and in good spirits after a strong showing at Anfield last time out, even if their play and approach was mocked by the Spanish Waiter.

Redknapp has decided against wading into the debate too aggressively and has backed Big Sam and the way he goes about his business.

Redknapp, speaking to Sky Sports said – ‘Everyone plays how they play, they have their own style, I have the way I want to play, Blackburn have their way of playing.

‘Whatever Sam does, he has been one of the most successful managers, doing what he’s done with what he’s had.

‘In the last 10 years he’s done fantastically and nearly got the England manager’s job – he was in the final interviews for that.

‘I wouldn’t criticise anything Sam does because he is a fantastic manager.’

Kind words indeed, but then you would expect that from a mate. But I believe that Redknapp’s appraisal of Big Sam is much more accurate than that of Benitez… even if he is going a little over the top with the praise!!!
