Steven Reid is staying with WBA for the rest of the season on loan.

Reidy is over in the Midlands trying to prove his fitness to bag a new deal, be it with Rovers or West Brom.

Rovers and Reid have today decided that it is best if he stays with the Championship Club until May.

Reid told the Albion Wesbite – ‘I’m delighted with the way it’s gone. We’ve had a decent run and I’m delighted to have played so many games,’

‘I think I’ve played five 90-minute games in 21 days. Before that I hadn’t played five 90-minute matches in the league in well over a year.’

Reid faces an uncertain future as his Rovers contract is up in the summer, but Reid has put it to the back of his head as he looks to impress.

Reid added – ‘My future’s a bit uncertain. I’ve put that to the back of my mind over the last few months while I’ve tried to get back to fitness and I’m not letting it worry me. First and foremost I’m looking to the next game and the next 90 minutes.

‘If I do well then it would be nice, contract-wise, if something could be there. If I keep performing well and that leads to a longer stay at the club then I will be delighted – and it will mean I’ve done well for the club.’

The end of Reidy at Rovers I would have thought?
