Blackburn Rovers are set to open contract talks with recovering midfielders Steven Reid and David Dunn in the near future.

The pair, who have one year remaining on exisiting deals – are both wanted by Big Sam but are in line for new talks.

This is good news for Steven, who has a bad injury record but is a huge influence when fit, however he may need to discuss reduced terms due to his injury problems.

Dunn, who is super keen to sign a new deal, will sit down with Rovers boss Sam Allardyce to extend his second stay at the Blue and White army.

Sam Allardyce is expecting that both players will be available for the start of the 2009/10 season, with both back in tentative training already.

John Williams, speaking to BBC radio Lancashire said – “David and Steven have both got a year left, so we`ll sit down and have a chat with them,”

That clears that up then.
