Blackburn’s first arrival of the transfer window – we wouldn’t expect many of them – could be Rennes defender Dimitri Cavare, according to L’Equipe via Get French Football.

The right back hasn’t been involved much for the French topflight club this season with it reported Cavare has been informed by his Rennes boss Christian Gourcuff he is free to find a new club. This might end up seeing him cross the water to Ewood Park?

Any deal would be dependant on the fee involved as this would have to be minimal – if not a free transfer – for Blackburn to do a potential deal I’d suspect as Owen Coyle isn’t likely to have much money given to him by the owners

Cavare has also been linked with Ligue 2 side Reims according to these reports so the 21 year old might prefer to stay in France as opposed to trying his hand in the Championship with Rovers?
