Rovers striker and fan favourite Jordan Rhodes has committed to Blackburn Rovers, telling a wide range of media outlets that he is happy at Ewood Park.

Rhodes was in magnificent form last season, bagging 29 goals in the Championship season and becoming the most popular player at the club by quite some distance.

And with speculation linking him with the likes of Hull, West Ham and Bolton (thanks Nicko, great shout on that one) a timely announcement by the player that he is happy to stay as long as he is needed by the club will be gratefully received.

‘I’m very settled, it’s a terrific football club as you can see here – tremendous fans, everything about it,’ Rhodes told Sky Sports.

‘I enjoyed a good year last year, everyone was fantastic with me so – for as long as I’m welcome – I’m a Blackburn Rovers player.’

With him stating words to the same effect to both BBC Radio Lancashire and to a fans gathering at Ewood Park yesterday, it’s safe to say recent reports of him angling for a move away are wide of the mark..

As long as he’s welcome? I wouldn’t say that’s a huge debate Jordan!
