Rovers striker Jordan Rhodes has started a mini-panic wave after withdrawing from the Scotland squad on international duty this fortnight with an ankle injury.

Rhodes limped off during training yesterday and there were reports that he has suffered a major injury (broken leg, soft tissue damage) but at the current time there has been no official diagnosis.

Rovers boss Gary Bowyer has confirmed the club will be aware of the extent of the damage as soon as the injury is assessed this afternoon.

Manager Gary Bowyer confirmed to the club’s official website – ‘Jordan has withdrawn to get an injury assessed.

‘He’s returned to the club and we’ll know more further this afternoon.’

Rovers other striking options included Leon Best, DJ Campbell and Josh King, but if Rhodes is to face an injury lay off then the goals will be hard to replace.
