Maceo Rigters has warned Blackburn Rovers he wants a loan move if he cannot nail down a first-team place at Ewood Park.

The 23-year-old told Dutch newspaper BN/De Stem that he was finding life on the sidelines difficult.

‘Of course that’s frustrating,’ said Rigters.

‘But there are some very good players before me and when the club wins four games in a row, you know that you still have to wait for a chance.’

Rigters hopes to get his chance in the coming weeks and was encouraged by a recent chat with Blackburn boss Mark Hughes.

He said: ‘Hughes told me that I have simply been unlucky and that the other strikers are doing so well. So who knows? I might be playing games in a couple of weeks.’

However, Rigters would like to move on if he does not get a starting berth soon.

He said: ‘If that’s not the case, I want to see the club loan me out as soon as possible. But I’m not thinking about that yet.’

Rigters joined Blackburn in the summer from NAC Breda.

MIKEY’S THOUGHTS

I for one am suprised he has not been given more of a chance but you have to admire his honesty.

I am sure with Roque out he will see more action… He needs to take his chance given.
