A man who regularly dons the costume of Roar the Lion to play Rovers match day has been arrested on suspicion of sexual activity in the presence of a minor.
These allegations have prompted officials at Ewood to remove Scott Henderson from his position as the cuddly chap who vamps up the crowd.
The investigation involves a 15 year old boy and centres on The Blackburn Rovers Indoor Centre (or BRIC if you prefer).
A club spokesman spoke to the Blackburn Citizen – “Blackburn Rovers can confirm that Scott Henderson has been advised that the club is no longer prepared to offer him any casual work.”
Lancashire police also commented saying – ‘We can confirm that a 22-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of sexual activity in the presence of a child.
‘He was arrested at his home address and has been bailed until December 15, pending further inquiries.’
Looks like the other people who play Roar will be working a few extra weekends.
