After Blackburn’s finish in seventh place, Jason Roberts says the club are moving in the right direction as he explains how they can push on next season.

“Looking back on the season we should be pretty happy about finishing seventh. We were tenth the season before. Whenever you make progress like that you have to be pleased.

“As a squad we pulled together really well and improved as a group of players. There were some key performances from guys like Roque (Santa Cruz), David Bentley and Brad Friedel – who did what he does every season. There were loads of signs that we’re moving in the right direction.

“From a personal point of view it was nice to come into the team at the tail end of the season, score a few goals and show what I can do.”

  • Whats going on. Another player coming out saying he’s happy to be at Ewood. Not such a bad place to be after all. Just heard that Shearer has turned down the job though. Pity but maybe he could still be brought in as a coach. Less pressure and a good way to ease into management. Supposedly the shortlist is down to 5. Hopefully thats Zico, Mancini, Billic, Ince and Laudrup. More likely to be Stevie Mac, Mr mcClaren, Steven macClaren, Steve O Claren(irish) and El Stevo mcClaren.

  • Roberto mArtinez has now been mentioned… that would be a good appointment. Either way I agree with J-Rob here, speaks sense that boy.

  • I don’t know HDM… all these players coming out and saying they are happy here. What will the media do for some fun now?

  • talk about normal stuff, I cant wiat for them to appoint a manager and then we can specukate about players ourselves!!
