Rothen Deal Is Not An Immediate Move

Blackburn Rovers boss Sam Allardyce admits a deal to sign Paris St Germain winger Jerome Rothen is not going to happen soon.

Rothen had been strongly linked with the Rovers after PSG insisted he would be moving on and the Frenchman was expected to travel to the North West for talks with Blackburn today, but that looks a little wide of the mark.

The snag here is that while Allardyce admits he likes Jerome, he wants to strengthen other areas of the team first (hint Sam: the middle part of the pitch).

Allardyce told the Lancashire Evening Telegraph – ‘Jerome Rothen is of an interest to us, but he is a left sider and I don’t feel as though we need strengthening in the wide positions,’

‘Left and right we are pretty strong. Brett is on his way back, we have Dioufy, Elrio, Morten, young Junior who looks bright.

‘From that point of view I don’t think that is a priority.’

Still waiting on that Kalinic news guys by the way…
