The Portuguese revolution at Rovers continues with two more added to the ranks last night after the signings of Edinho Junior and Paulo Jorge were both confirmed.

Both players signed on the dotted line penning three year deals at the club after completing medicals yesterday. The Portugeezers were both in action against Fleetwood and Accrington on Saturday and have done enough on trial to impress manager Steve Kean (yes I know).

Edinho is a striker who was monitored by Celtic recently and has joined from Olhanense whilst Paulo Jorge has taken the step of moving from Porto’s academy to Rovers, both for small fees.

Kean in particular had high praise for Paulo Jorge who now has the dubious honour of being handed a Kean famous player comparison – joining the illustrious ranks of Bruno Ribeiro, Myles Anderson, David Goodwillie and Mauro Formica of being dubbed the ‘new’ somebody in roundabout fashion.

Kean told the LT – “He (Jorge) doesn`t look his age, he looks much older and shows a maturity beyond his years, he is like a young Gattuso.”

Way to curse him Steven.
