Blackburn Rovers have asked tonight’s opponents Chelsea to keep on loan striker Franco Di Santo on loan until the end of the season.

The deal was initially to last until January 1st 2010 but Rovers are hopeful that Chelsea will agree his development will be best served at Ewood Park rather than clogging up the Stamford bridge bench.

The only sticking point is that Chelsea are losing strikers Didier Drogba and Salomon Kalou to the always convenient African Cup of Nations for the month of January.

But some sweet talking will apparently take place, especially after we triumph gloriously tonight!
