Rovers manager Gary Bowyer has challenged his side to build on an impressive display in the second half of the side’s 1-1 draw at home to league leaders Leicester at the weekend.

Rovers started the game paying too much respect to Leicester and were deservedly behind before Matt Kilgallon’s strong header restored parity somewhat fortuitously.

But the goal seemed to galvanise the home side who came out at the start of the second half like a team possessed, with a more proactive tactical approach and higher pressing leading to Rovers being in the ascendancy for larger periods.

With Rovers picking up a deserved point the opportunity is there to build on an improved pair of performances in the last two games, starting with Watford away tomorrow night.

Bowyer told the Lancashire Telegraph – “We`ve got to kick on now, we can`t rest on our laurels.

“We can`t go to Watford thinking we`ve done it just because we`ve drawn with the league leaders.

“We have to go there with the same mentality that we showed on Saturday and try and get something.”

Rovers are now 9 points behind the play off spots with 10 games remaining, the clock ticks…
