Rovers Back In Action

Blackburn Rovers have had a LONG wait since the last Premier League match, but Rovers are back in action on Saturday for the Lancashire Derby with Bolton Wanderers.

Not since the defeat at Arsenal on Monday 11th March have Rovers been in action (due to the early FA Cup exit) but we have been away and should be well rested and refreshed ready for Bolton on Saturday, and this begins a VITAL six matches that WILL play a major role in how the season pans out.

Gary Megson brings his Trotters to Ewood Park, but Rovers will be favourites, so we MUST be fancying our chances of ending the month on a high before going into March, which will take on EVEN MORE importance when you look at the fixture list for April (it doesn’t make favourable reading!!!)

The Bolton match begins a run of six matches that ARE more than winnable for Rovers, and should they all be won that will be a MASSIVE 18 points that could leave us in a Champions League place let alone UEFA Cup place. OKAY, we probably won’t win all six but when you look at Bolton, Newcastle United, Fulham, West Ham United, Wigan Athletic and Reading you can’t help but rub your hands with glee thinking this REALLY is a chance to make a huge impression on our season, and could make such a difference come full time in the last round of Premier League matches on Sunday May 11th!!!

Before ANYTHING else we MUST beat the Trotters, then hopefully the rest will take care of itself throughout March before a DEEP breath is taken and we take on Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool, Manchester United and Portsmouth in April before finishing the season with two more matches that we SHOULD think we can win against Derby County (Robbie Savage and all!) and Birmingham City.
