Blackburn Rovers will have competition from Sheffield Wednesday, Nottingham Forest and Reading but we could sign former Cardiff City and Wigan Athletic midfielder Kim B-Kyung.

Speculation has grown over the weekend Rovers are among those hopeful of signing the twenty-five-year-old on a FREE Transfer with him currently unattached after a short term deal with Wigan expired and he decided not to extend his stay with The Latics following relegation into SkyBet League One.

Wednesday, Forest and Reading wouldn’t be the only SkyBet Championship sides Rovers would be battling against to sign the South Korean International, however, The Lancashire Telegraph believes we’ve got a good chance of signing him as he’ll fall inline with our Financial Fair Player restrictions.

If Kim was to agree a deal (within these FFP restrictions) and wanted to come to Ewood Park we’ll need to successfully gain a work permit, which shouldn’t prove too troublesome for the International regular and versatile midfielder (who could also play up front) who has been plying his trade in Britain for three years now with regular experience in The Championship and Barclays Premier League with Cardiff. We also know he’s more than proven at this level.

Something (and I’d be more than happy if we could sign Kim!!) to sway his move in our favour could be the fact Head of Recruitment Tommy Johnson has previous with him at The Bluebirds with Craig Conway and Rudy Gestede (how long he remains at Ewood remains to be seen!!) former team mates of his at The Cardiff City Stadium too.

This is the type of quality, and proven, signing I’d like Rovers to be making if possible.
