Rovers could be facing disappointment in the Junior Hoilett contract saga with information coming to light that could see Rovers getting less than £1 million for their star man.

With the likes of Spurs and Liverpool loitering around Hoilett with his contract running out it was assumed that Rovers would lose the Canadian but still pick up a handsome enough fee at the tribunal as he has been nurtured at the club since he was 13.

But if Hoilett elects for a move to mainland Europe with the likes Bayern Munich interested then the fee could be a lot less with different rules for compensation set over in Germany.

The Daily Mail has clarified – ‘The rules of the governing body state that clubs are only entitled to 90,000 Euros for each year they have trained a departing player under the age of 23. And as Hoilett has been at Blackburn for nine years, his fee would equate to 810,000 Euros.’

The club for some reason are still confident they can get Junior to sign a new deal at Rovers, no explanation as to the reasoning behind this as there likely isn’t any.
