Rovers delay Bannan move

Rovers manager Gary Bowyer has confirmed that the club have put on hold the proposed move to sign Barry Bannan, with rumours of agent greed playing a role in the transfer hold up.

Bannan is free to leave Villa Park, with Aston Villa accepting a bid in the region of £750,000 for their youth team product, but a deal has been difficult to reach with the player on personal terms, and as a result the move has been delayed…. although Bowyer has confirmed the club could come back to it.

“We had a bid and that was accepted, but we`ve not continued talks at this present moment in time,” the Rovers boss told the Lancashire Telegraph.

“We`re exploring all options, there might be a chance it might happen, if not we have to be prepared for it not happening.

“We`ve just got to keep as many plates spinning at the moment as we possibly can.

“We have a massive list and we`re exploring all avenues at this moment but we are hopeful of bringing in certainly one or maybe two before the Derby game.”

The opening game with Derby is less than a week away.
